For my Bat Mitzvah project, I decided to support female IDF soldiers by sending care packages to them. I recently attended an FIDF (Friends of Israel Defense Forces) event and met several soldiers. The story of one of those soldiers, Miri, really touched me. Miri was a combat soldier in the IDF border guard. At a young age, Miri lost her mother to cancer, and shortly thereafter her father. As the oldest of her siblings, Miri then had the responsibility for raising her brothers and sisters. It was only through the FIDF that Miri was able to attend college and have a career. Once I noticed how much the FIDF changed Miri's life, and those of other soldiers, I decided to help other female IDF soldiers as my Bat Mitzvah project. Please help me show our support and appreciation.
