Multi-service dog for seizure alert

We are the Ballew family and we are trying to raise money for a multi-purpose service seizure dog for our daughter, Crystal .  Crystal was born with a rare syndrome called 10q Trisomy.Children with this syndrome seldom live into their teen years. Crystal,  however, has beaten those odds. she will celebrate her 31st birthday this year; she is an adult inside a child’s body. She has suffered through many health issues as a result of 10q trisomy such as mental retardation, retarded growth and physical limitations, heart problems, kidney problems, scoliosis and seizures. She has undergone foot surgery to try to help with mobility issues, but the hardware caused complications and subsequent bone infection and eventually infection of the blood. As a result, Crystal has balance and walking issues which cause her to fall frequently. Over the last several years, Crystal's health has started deteriorating. Crystal has grand-mal seizures which cause her to stop breathing and have full body convulsions. These seizures are now happening more frequently. Crystal was recently hospitalized following 2 seizures and at that time it was discovered that she is having seizure activity more often in her brain but with no physical symptoms. Our goal is to raise $14,000 to help pay for a multi-purpose service dog. That can learn to detect the on set of seizures for Crystal.  Money in excess of our goal will be donated to 4paws for ability to help others in need of a service dog.
