Paul Dannels

Donation protected
Paul Dannels—beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend—has been struck with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Since his diagnosis a year ago, it has been a difficult journey as the disease has gradually attacked his motor neurons, affecting Paul's ability to be independent with mobility, breathing, and eating. At this stage of the disease, the physical changes and subsequent limitations now require numerous medical devices, home modifications and clinical support in the home—all of which are extremely costly.

Paul's greatest love is for his grandchildren, family, and friends. His ultimate desire was to be able to remain in his home as this horrible disease takes over his physical body. He and his wife Bonnie are now faced with the major changes of selling and moving to be in a one level home.

We humbly reach out to you for support so that we can keep him with his family surrounded by love and comfort. Any amount will help, and your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. Thank you!! God bless.

More about Paul

Paul Dannels was born in California but has lived in Colorado most of his life. He and his wife of 45 years, Bonnie, have lived in Castlerock, CO since 1982. They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.

Paul graduated from Fort Collins High School, and Bonnie and all 3 of his kids attended CSU. He is a huge CSU football fan and loves attending as many games as possible with his “RAMily.” He and his wife were season ticket holders since the mid 90s until they had to relinquish the tickets in 2018 due to his ALS. This Fall, two banners (Higgins and Gallup) were donated in Paul's honor and now hang in the indoor practice facility.

Paul had a long successful career as District Manager for Castle Pines Metropolitan District before retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Rotary Club during his career. Prior to his work with public utilities, Paul was a fireman.

A kind and generous man who loves helping kids and teens, Paul has mentored teenage kids and college students, worked as a driving instructor/mentor for teens, traveled with FUMC Youth Group on many mission trips, and has enjoyed visiting elementary classrooms and reading to the children.

Paul has a love of music and he shared the gift of his voice with so many over the years at special events, weddings, and memorials. He is a member of First United Methodist Church in Castle Rock.
