Mallorca (Missionary) Family Need a Car

Hi! We are Francis & Laura Mallorca, missionaries serving in Southern Leyte, Philippines, in a small city south of where the super typhoon Haiyan devastated the capital city Tacloban on our island. Read on for how you can make a HUGE impact here in our lives as we help others!
We have been living and serving the community of Maasin City for nearly 4 years now, the last year and a half in full-time church based ministry. Francis is pastoring, leading the youth group and young professionals, handling bible studies, government mandated family development sessions for our local barangay, and a regular Sunday preaching schedule. On top of being a daddy! It's a busy season here!
Our little family of three just grew in March with the arrival of our baby girl! One of the biggest challenges we, and the rest of our community here in Maasin, face on a daily basis is transportation. Once our little boy was a year old, we were able to carry him (helmeted of course) on our old, but reliable motorcycle. But since the birth of the baby, we can no longer rely on the motorcycle as our family's primary mode of transportation.
There is a local form of transportation available, the "tricycle;" it's a motorcycle powered "taxi" that hauls anywhere from 1 to 7 or more people per load. Laura uses the trike with both babies several times a week in order to go back and forth into the city and to church. At best, it's hot, crowded and slow, difficult to find in evening hours, and requires waiting or walking distances to pick up a ride. We have to take a van or bus to travel to other parts of the island which greatly limits the time we're able to work and serve before catching the last trip back home. When Francis needs to take us or a group of young people to a ministry event, youth fellowship or seminar/training, coordinating transportation has always been the biggest struggle.
We've been praying for a year now for a diesel-powered vehicle to use for family and ministry. Something with a good engine and 7 seats would be a HUGE blessing and answer to our need and prayer. We're hoping to purchase an older, good-condition vehicle like a Toyota Revo, Hyundai Santa Fe, or Isuzu Crosswind.
All of the funds raised through this campaign will go to the cash purchase price of the car, the insurance, LTO registration and title transfer. As of July 2014, we've raised over $2k towards our goal of $8,000. A small missions group in California has already pledged the final $2,000 if we're able to raise the rest.
