Miracles for McKenna and the Gardner family

I am starting this campaign for one of the nicest families I know.  Just over two weeks ago, their precious 10 year old daughter McKenna, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.  She is only the 13th person EVER diagnosed with this particular type of cancer called Ganglioneuroblastoma. She was taken to the hospital for a very painful headache shortly after her soccer game. She was given a CT scan and a mass was found on the left side of her brain.  Two days later she endured a 10 hour long surgery where the surgeons removed an orange sized tumor.

The fantastic news is her prognosis is very positive. The doctors feel that the treatments she will receive should eliminate all the cancer. Of course there's no guarantee but they seem pretty optimistic which is great. This sweet little girl will have 6 weeks of high dose radiation. She will get to have a 4 week break and then 4 to 6 months of Chemotherapy where she will need to travel to Duke hospital on a daily bases which is close to 1 hour from their home.

Many people have asked how they can help. I am starting this Go Fund Me campaign in order to reach out to family, friends and strangers to help these wonderful people anyway they can. This money will be used to help pay for medical needs and costs associated with the healing of this beautiful little girl.  Any amount given will truly be a gift we can never thank you enough for.  Any remaining money left over after costs are covered will be donated to a children's cancer charity. 

If you're unable to donate money, I ask that you donate your time and keep McKenna in your prayers as the road ahead is still unknown.  As a father of three kids,  I cant imagine what she and her parents are going through, its quite scary. If we as a whole, can give them a little less stress by helping with the financial costs, that would be wonderful.  Please follow the "Miracles for McKenna" FB page for updates and photos.
