6th Annual Climb For Connor

On June 17th, 2014, Norwich University student-athlete Connor Roberts suffered a fatal heart attack. Connor was a caring and smart individual whose life was taken too soon. His passion for sports and life could be felt by those who were fortunate enough to know him. The Connor Roberts Memorial Fund, was established by Connor's family and friends to ensure his memory can continue to touch the lives of others.
For the past six years, the men's lacrosse teams at Norwich University (where Connor was a member) and Castleton University (where Connor's siblings attended, including brother Ben who played lacrosse); have come together to honor Connor’s lasting legacy on both campuses and throughout the State of Vermont by “Climbing for Connor”. For one winter weekend in each of the past six years, members of the men’s lacrosse teams at both Norwich and Castleton have taken to their respective climbing facilities and embarked on a 24 hour climbing marathon to honor Connor.
For the 2020 climb, we have decided to switch it up in an effort to better exemplify Connor’s ability to bring people together. We will still climb for 24 hours total, but both Castleton and Norwich will climb for 12 hours respectively for a combined total of 24 hours. Two teams, 24 hours, one great cause.
Both The Castleton and Norwich men's lacrosse teams will Climb from 12AM to 12PM, Feb. 1st. Castleton will climb at the Glenbrook Gym Rock Wall and Norwich at Hurley Rock Wall in the Shapiro Field House .
Climbers are seeking donations and sponsorships for the event, with all proceeds benefiting the CJR Memorial Fund, LTD. All are welcome at the event to climb, donate or show your support for our climbers in their 24-hour show of support for Connor. All proceeds from the event will ensure his memory can continue to touch the lives of others.
