Walking Device for Mallory

Donation protected
My name is Mallory. I was involved in a horrific head on collision on December 4, 2010. I was given a 5% chance to live, after dying for over 20 minutes with absolutely no heart beat or vital signs. I sustained an Anoxic Brain Injury, secondary to a Traumatic Brain Injury and many other broken bones and internal bleeding. I was in a coma for about two months and remained in ICU in Tyler, Tx. I was then moved to a head injury specific facility in New Orleans where I spent almost two months in therapy. My family was told that due to the amount of Brain damage I had that if I recovered, and only if, I would be nothing more than a vegetable. I was completely dependent on my family when I was released from the rehab. I could only sit in my wheelchair and could only use one hand well enough to feed myself. I could not even turn myself in the hospital bed and my Mom would turn me every two hours. My family had to do everything for me. I begin outpatient therapy and after one year, I was using a walker and out of the wheelchair. I started to show improvement and each day started to get better. My balance has improved but I still can't walk without a walker. My family has been there and fought for me each step of the way. It has now been three years and my biggest miracle would be to walk again without assistance. I recently tried a device that "shocks" or rather sends a signal to my brain that helps with balance and I could walk much faster and with hope, one day walk without the walker and use only the device. My insurance denied the claim. My mother appealed it and today we were told No once again. The device is expensive. I would like to not only get help covering this financially but help with raising money for others that "NEED" this device to walk. Please help me to raise the money and also to raise enough that I can some way pay it forward to others. I appreciate any help. God Bless you and thank you for your time to read my story and any help you can offer. Love, Mallory
