Help for Alexis

Amazing Alexis, beating odds and inspiring others. That is what the news said about my granddaughter. This couldn't be more true. My beautiful granddaughter was born a stroke survivor. Her stroke caused Right Hemiparesis which means she is partially paralyzed on the right half of her body. She has overcome more in her 12 years than most do in a lifetime. The next step of her journey, 3/20/14, is to have major surgeries performed on both of her legs at the same time. These surgeries will help her with many of the issues she has with her walking that were caused by her stroke. While this is going change her life in so many positive ways, her recovery will be long and hard. For the first 6 weeks she will be totally dependent on her family as she will not be allowed to bear weight and then she will start the long process of physical therapy to learn to stand and walk all over again.


My son and his family need help right now. They are overwhelmed by all of the added expenses that are about to fall on them. From medical expenses and equipment to building a wheelchair ramp at their home. I want my son to be able to be with Alexis as she recover in the hospital and her first few days at home instead of worrying about each day of work he misses.
