Welcome to Mikka's Miracle, a page devoted to supporting Mikka Alexander Harvey's journey through what is the most difficult time of his young life. On Wednesday, February 12, 2014 (his 13th birthday), Mikka will have brain surgery to remove a tumor from the left temporal lobe at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. The tumor was discovered over the Christmas holidays, when Mikka had a seizure after leaving McDonald's with his aunt and cousins. Since then, he's had 3-5 seizures a day and cannot be left alone for any period of time.

As a large community of family and friends who love Mikka and his parents, we're raising money to help ease the financial burden on them during their time of need. His mom, Allyson, is now on unpaid leave through the Family Medical Leave Act, which will continue over the next few months as Mikka recovers.

Please consider donating to help with the following costs:

--Prescriptions, co-pays and insurance gaps
--Travel to and from the hospital (approximately 80 miles roundtrip)
--Overnight hotel stays for immediate family members
--Meals
--Maintenance of household bills
--Mikka's goal of starting a book drive to add the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book series to all children's waiting rooms in hospitals

Sport: Football (his dad is one of the coaches on his Prince Frederick Eagles football team!)

Athletes: Ray Lewis, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Adrian Peterson, Robert Griffith III (RG3) & Calvin Johnson aka Megatron

Entertainer: Kevin Hart (actor/comedian)

Food: Chick-fil-A nuggets w/Polynesian sauce (a must!)

Activities: Working out & looking at his baby muscles in the mirror (lol!); video games (Xbox); reading
