Tony Figueroa's Burned Victim Fund

Donation protected

I would like to share an event that happened which has changed the lives of a man, a wife, children, friends and family. On the morning of January 25, 2014, I received the heartbreaking news that my Godson's father, Julio Figueroa better known as Tony, was involved in a horrific accident while working in the mechanic shop located in Brooklyn, NY. As he was working on a car, the gas tank of the vehicle exploded, igniting him and the entire auto shop into flames. Tony suffered severe second and third degree burns on more than half of his body. On that morning, he was rushed to the Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan and since then has been in critical condition. Tony has been on and off life support and in an induced coma since the incident occurred. He has gone under several skin-grafting surgeries and his struggles continue.

I have known Tony for almost 10 years and would like to share with you all a littlebit about him. There arenot enough words that can describe how kind-hearted, generous and sincere he has been with his family, friends, customers who visited the auto shop, even strangers. Tony has a wife and two young boys age 7 and 10 who are being affected by this tragedy, not being able to have their father by their side. For those of you that do know Tony, remember him by his captivating smile and charming personality. I have created this fund to assist him and his family during this difficult time and for his long road to recovery. There is no prediction on when Tony will go home or how his life would be after leaving the hospital. It is also unknown as to when or if he will return to work and provide for his family. Tony is going to need a lot of physical therapy, emotional support as well as numerous surgeries, which the costs will be considerably overwhelming.

We humbly ask that you open your hearts and pray for Tony and his recovery. We also ask that you kindly contribute with any donation to help him and his family through this ordeal. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, we ask that you please share this story with others via facebook and other social medias, so others who may be inclined to help both emotionally and economically are able to do so. I would like to thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read this and for the thoughts and prayers that you've made for Tony. I also want to thank you for your kindness and compassion.
