Here's another chance to give! All overhead costs have already been paid for so every single penny of what you give will go directly to paying for the surgery of one of these children. I am personally going to help and witness this outreach in the Philippines in just 3 weeks from now. (July 7th, 2017)
Our last outreach in March resulted in the surgery of 44 children at the total cost of around $3,300 USD for all 44! Each outreach will have a different number of children and slightly different costs, but we were super excited about those results!
What an awesome chance to give to those who need it most: Children with medical needs and nobody to turn to for help. We project that the entire cost to perform a cleft lip surgery on one of these children is $167 USD!! (average cost based on many past oureach events)
We are now funding a cleft lip surgical outreach for impoverished children in the Mindoro Oriental Province, Philippines. The target is to complete 15-45 surgeries within a few days of July 7th, 2017.
Surgeons and their teams will be brought in from Manila on a flight and bus ride to small town of San Jose. This will be one of three anual medical outreaches in this province each year. There have been 6 successful cleft lip surgical outreaches in the past few years treating nearly 450 children in total.
We are super excited about how far sponsor funds go in a country like the Philippines, with the support of low/no fee doctors and medical professionals, as well as the excellent organizational skills of the Non-Profit group we have partnered with, Give a Smile. ( http://www.giveasmile.org) Depending on the final number of children that are treated, the target cost will be approximately $167 for each child's surgery!
I've personally spent time at their facitlity and was amazed at their love and care for the children that they assist. I've also reviewed their financial statments and expenses and became very satisfied at their efficiency and extremely low overhead costs.
