Hurricane Florence Aftermath

My name is Jessica Morcus and I reside in Jacksonville, NC my family and I were severely effected by Hurricane Florence which hit and destroyed our home and personal belongings. On Tuesday Sept 11, 2018 we were instructed to perform a mandatory evacuation. We were forced to leave our house and travel out of state to keep our family safe. We packed as much as we could in our car to include our animals and left. These circumstances caused me to miss two weeks of work which equates to no income. We returned to our home last night September 22nd to find our home extremely  damaged. Our roof caved in upstairs to include our master bedroom, bathroom, closets and office work space. Everything has water damage. In those rooms we kept the majority of our personal belongings! All of our clothes, electronics office and bedroom furniture to include computers, TVs, shoes and sentimental items, all of these items were destroyed. Since we were evacuated for almost two weeks and were told by our landlord we could not enter home until an adjuster came mold has already started to form. Ironically our lease ended on the 15th and florence hit on the the 13th which continued to hover over our county for a few days. We reside in Jacksonville, NC where the brunt of the storm occurred. We were in the middle of resigning a new year lease but decided to wait until the storm passed. Once we received photos of the side of our home ripped open we began to worry. Unfortunately, we were under the impression renters insurance was included in our lease but sadly we were mistaken. We are now in a huge finical burden living off one income and trying to relocate due to mold and extreme damages. We need any help we can get for relocation fees, moving expenses, replacement of furniture, clothing, electronics and temporary housing. As of now the three of us are sharing a bed with my son.

be greatly appreciated. I never in a million years thought this would happen to us but it did and we need help.
