Bucks Medical Expenses

I never thought I would be sitting here asking for help for this

My name is Deborah Welsh and I am married to Buck Welsh. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma or Diffuse Large B cell lymphoma in March of 2017. It is a very aggressive bulky  cancer.

Those who do know him and  have met him, can attest to, that he is fiercely loyal, genuine and loving to his family, friends and brothers, he loves music, motorcycles , cooking and something he has not been able to do for a while is camping .... just living life to its fullest.

Immediately after his diagnosis he was admitted into St Anthony’s Hospital onocology unit (the staff was amazing) and he began treatment of intense chemotherapy, he was released and continued treatment of outpatient chemotherapy and then radiation. He finished in November; however it did not go away or go into remission...  We were and have been referred to Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa FL where he has to receive a T- Cell transplant.

Before  the transplant  Buck will receive conditioning chemotherapy and various testing. Testing begins next week .He will then undergo inpatient treatment for at least 14 days , then we will stay at a hotel for 14 days next to the hospital so he can be monitered daily. He will then  be discharged to come home but still will need a  full time caregiver which will be me ( I will be with him the entire time )  for up to a month. During this time Buck will be very weak and will need lots of care so I will not  be able to work.  ( I may be able to work intermittently here and there. I am taking FMLA leave, which is unpaid.  Transplant will take place in February or do Chemotherapy for the month of February which has to be at Moffitt  and Transplant will take place in March... either way I have to be home with him.
Its fight time...  This horrible disease is trying to take Buck and I and I know that I speak for many.  That cannot happen!!!! He means too much to too many especially me.

It’s going to be physically, emotionally,  financially taxing and urgent (a cost that we couldn’t prepare for) and we could use some help. Donations will be used for medical, housing and living expenses.

I understand not everyone is in a place to donate and that is ok, your love, prayers, support, kind words and reaching out are always a comfort to know that we are not in this fight alone.
