Fatal House Fire
Donation protected
On November 25th my father, William (Bill) McGrath passed away in a house fire. My Mom returning home from work, just like any other day could hear and see fire trucks and ambulances as she approached her home at Edgewater. She prayed that it wasn't her house, but sadly that wasn't the case. The police appraoched her, and asked her to park her car and explained that they had been waiting for her. That's when she came to the realization that it was more than just the house that was lost. My family and I are very thankful for officer Strand who took great care of her. He was able to get in touch with me and my sister, which allowed us to get back home to our Mom as soon as we could.
My Dad was a very kind man whose goal was to always make everyone happy. During the funeral many stories were told, but we all came to the conclusion that Dad was like Chevy Chase in "Christmas Vacation." Where he would try so hard during the holidays and special occasions to have everything go right but alot of times to his dismay it wouldn't. He was a die hard Twins and Vikings fan aswell as a fisherman and hunter. He has passed those loves to us kids. He was layed to rest in Madison, SD, he leaves behind his wife Sue, daughters Michele, Nicole, and Teresa, as well as his sons Billy and Joe.
I wouldn't wish for anyone else to go through what we have gone through in these last 2 weeks. From having a great Thanksgiving to picking through the rubble of our childhood home and burying a father and husband who nobody had the chance to say goodbye to. We have salvaged what we can and what remains of our Mom's life can fit into a suitcase and a few boxes. Our Mom is moving to Florida with us to try and pick up the pieces. Any donations big or small will go towards clothing, toiletries ect.. all the basics that we take for granted as well as moving expenses.
If you feel like you can help our Mom please donate or share. Thank you and God Bless.
