Medical and Funeral Expences

Donation protected
This is my father in law Doug, on Thanksgiving he was diagnosed with a rare blood disease called amyloidosis. This disease attacked his heart and caused him all sorts of problems some of which were to retain fluids around his heart and lungs and caused his heart to stop pumping at full capacity. The best way to take care of this disease is with a chemo-treatment to get the light chains to a manageable level so they could then focus on the heart. Eight weeks into the chemo we got the desired results and were able to start focusing on the heart. Once the heart treatments started things started to look good and he was feeling much better. Then one day his heart rate dropped and he had to be sent to the hospital. He was in Christ for about a week before he needed to be transported to the ICU and they had to do an emergency surgery where the doctors put a balloon pump in to help his heart pump correctly. This did not take and he was sent to St. Vincent in Indianapolis to try to be qualified for a heart transplant. Unfortunately the amyloidosis has done too much damage to his other organs and he does not qualify for a heart transplant. As of 2/11/2014 he had a heart attack, they were able to bring him back and put him in a stable condition, but there was nothing else they could do for him. He was left in an unresponsive state, and per his living will he did not want to be in that state. Later that night he peacefully passed away. We are asking for any help to pay for the funeral and medical expences. Thank you for all your help!  Dwight Douglas Gray's Obituary
