Dollars for Deng

My co-workers and I are trying to help a dear friend in need. Deng works with us as a Patient Care Tech at an in-patient unit at Strong Memorial Hospital. He is so kind and works extremely hard to make all of his patients comfortable, and they all love him (and so do we!!). Deng is a former lost boy of Sudan. He moved to the US over 10 years ago as a refugee to make a better life for himself and his family. He became a US citizen during his early years here. However, Deng's family remains in Africa. He is able to visit them at least once every year but, ultimately, Deng wants to move his family to the US. He has a wife and three children. Deng has been working on the grueling process of being reunited with his family here in the US. Each child has a US passport and his wife is completing the necessary paperwork needed for them to join Deng here, in Rochester! The only road block that remains is the cost of one-way flights for each family member. Deng has given us a rough estimate of needing around $4,000 to be able to purchase these airline tickets. The goal has been set a bit higher so that Deng and his family might have a little extra money to help them get settled in (5 more mouths to feed is a lot!). Relocating an entire family is no easy feat! If we can get even a few people to donate anything at all that would be amazing. Deng is a wonderful person and is so appreciative of any help he can get. Let's all give a little so that Deng and his family can be reunited!!
