Cameron’s Medical Fund

Donation protected
On November 1st, 2019, my 17 year old son, Cameron Ludlum, was in a horrible four wheeler accident that involved a car hitting him. Cameron’s leg was smashed by car and then the four wheeler got jammed under front of car and sent him over 45 feet down the highway. He was on the back of his best friends four wheeler at the time and what started out as fun turned critical for Cameron. He had no pulse upon EMS arriving. He was airlifted immediately and transported to a more advanced hospital an hour from our home. Cameron lost a lot of blood and had to have 16 liters donated to him. He had 11 broken bones that included his arm, leg, pelvis and a rib. He had dislocated both hips. He had internal bleeding that the doctors kept finding in areas of his stomach, spleen, colon, and intestines. His spleen busted on impact causing blood to start to fill his lungs. It didn’t look good. After 10 hours of waiting desperately to find out if our son was alive, we were told they were still working on him and the Orthopedic doctor that came out told us it was the worst injuries he had ever seen in his 15 years as a doctor. We later learned that Cameron’s heart stopped five different times. They told us they did all they could do but now it was up to Cameron to survive. My life crumbled that night. I wish this on no parent. It was 50/50 and could go either way. He remained incubated for nine days. Cameron also hit his head and the doctors were not sure if there was going to be any damage until after Cameron woke up. Cameron’s leg had to have a lot of surgeries and they did what they could to save it. They put in rods but Cameron lost a lot of muscle and they had to remove muscle and skin as well.  Cameron‘s leg was so severe they did put rods in and try to save it but he was running fevers of 103 and without a spleen that they had to remove it was hard to fight the infection and he developed sepsis and another bacterial infection. After about 14 days they had to remove Cameron’s leg from the knee down. This child is very strong and has come through This with an amazing spirit. Cameron is in rehab now and it has been over 40 days as of today. His recovery will be a long one but he will need a prosthetic. Cameron has the will power and he is pushing through the pain to try to get home as soon as he can. All in all Cameron had over 23 surgeries and has another surgery scheduled for Monday for another skin graft because he was missing all the skin  to have several skin graphs for his leg even after it’s amputated. Camerons faith has not been lost and he knows that God has been there the whole time helping him get through this. We were told by doctors that Cameron is a miracle and has beat science because he really should not have survived. But my son did survive and he is here.  His friend. Alex Tedder also lost part of his leg and had a go fund me as well. If Anyone would like to help please feel free to donate if not just share his story because Cameron is an inspiration to anyone.
