What am I planning to do?
I am aiming to run 100km during December to raise money for Haven First.
Where will you be this winter?
Winter is here and for most of us we have a warm house and roof over our head. We might be fed up with Covid-19 and lockdown but for some people, basic food and shelter is what is needed. I thought it was time to raise some money for a local charity that has some great aims ( and try to get myself fit at the same time).
Can you help the local homeless?
Haven First's mission is to ensure that anyone who becomes homeless has immediate access to safe accommodation with the care and support needed to transform their lives for the better.
What does Haven First do?
It exists to provide shelter and support for single people experiencing homelessness in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire. Haven First encourages people not just to get back on their feet, but to move on into secure and settled lives in the local community. They aim to break the often familiar cycle of homelessness and operate two hostels: a 40-bed hostel in Stevenage and a 17-bed hostel in Hitchin.
