Reilly's World

UPDATE 10/16/14 Hi everyone...we are still getting hit with medical expenses and now we begin more therapy while we are still waiting for a grand total from previous therapy sessions that have racked up, but not yet been paid for. Reilly will most likely need 3 more months of therapy and our insurance benefits have run out. All of this has to be paid out of our pockets. We are scraping by living on 1 income and simply can't afford to pay for these expenses. We could really use some help! Please, if you can, help us by donating. Even if it's only a few dollars it all counts. Thank you!!

UPDATE 6/9/14 Thank you all again for the support you have given us! We haven't shared this page in awhile, but have gotten to a place where we really need to ask for help once again. Originally this page was set up to help raise money for Reilly's water therapy following his lengthening surgery. Now we are just so overwhelmed with bills. This lengthening surgery was very costly and while we do have insurance through Chris' employer (we pay over $700/mo for the insurance), we are still finding ourselves stuck with a ton of out of pocket expenses. From co-pays, deductibles, prescriptions, etc. Reilly has had several pin infections and so with each of those comes antibiotics. After surgery he had pain killers, anxiety meds, etc. We also have medical supplies to buy for pin care. Then there's of course the cost of gas... having to take Reilly to therapy 5 days a week, driving about 34 miles there and 34 back on the highway which takes us 45mins to an hr. It costs $50+ to fill up my gas tank. The medical bills are piling up. Because of Reilly's surgery, I had to stop working my full time job so that I could care for Reilly and take him back and forth to his therapy sessions and doctors appointments. So, we went from 2 incomes down to 1. We have sold many of our belongings and downsized many things including our house to try and make ends meet. Yet, we are still drowning. This is really putting a lot of stress on us. Chris is doing the best he can to make ends meet working hard at his job... constantly putting in overtime hours and missing out on time with his family. It is really taking a toll on him. He works 70+hrs a week, but he's doing what needs to be done to help our family. With that we are still in over our heads. With all the extra costs and medical expenses we have gotten so far behind on our other bills like bge, credit cards, etc. At times its been hard to put food in our house.
We know that everyone has their struggles and that money is an issue for a lot of people, but we ask that if you are able to spare a couple of dollars it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all in advance!

I do want to add that we received news that we were denied for hospital assistance which we were seeking for Reilly's physical therapy sessions which are $200-something a session. Our insurance company only allows for 35 sessions a year and we well exceeded that some time ago. Following that we received assistance from the Save-A-Limb Fund for about 2 weeks worth of sessions, but that ran out awhile back also. We had applied for hospital assistance and truly thought we would get it, but we were denied. Meanwhile, while waiting to hear back about the assistance, we were still going to therapy. So our bill was racking up. We have looked into the appeal process and are taking steps to do so, but per the insurance company we will more than likely not get any additional coverage. This means that we will have to come up with the money for that as well. To think of it is just sickening as Reilly will need this therapy for at least another few months. To stop therapy would mean that everything we've done up to this point was for nothing. Stopping is not an option!
Please keep us in your prayers!

Our son Reilly was born on January 29, 2011 with a condition called PFFD (Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency)...a condition which affects 1 in 50,000. At the young age of 3, Reilly has already had a few surgeries in preparation for his limb lengthening surgeries which he will need to have over the course of his childhood years. Reilly is set to have his first lengthening surgery on Tuesday February 11th. we just found out today that RIAO cannot do aquatic therapy (which is very beneficial for lengthening patients) as we had thought because reilly's not potty trained (which we were told to hold off until after this surgery). We have found a facility close to home that will do the aquatic therapy. The thing is our insurance only allows for 35 total pt sessions. which gives reilly about 15 weeks of therapy, 2-3 sessions a week. Ideally they like to do 4-5 sessions a week for closer to 6 months but they said they will try to stretch it out and work with what they have and we'll just have to do some therapy at home in place of those other sessions. if we do aquatic therapy at another facility and go through insurance that takes away from those few sessions we need at riao. so that leaves us with having to pay for aquatic out of pocket. these sessions are $175-$200 per session. we simply just cannot afford this...so...we need your help so that reilly can get this therapy. any and all help is greatly appreciated!!! We cannot say it enough....thank you, thank you, thank you!! May God bless you all for your kindness, generosity, love, and support!! You all are amazing!! www.facebook.com/reillysworld
