Aubrey Johnson Fundraiser

Alot of people want to help Aubrey and Courtney but are not sure how or what to do. With Aubrey out of work for so long battling complications from Sepsis, and bills accumulating, I thought maybe we could help out by donating money for them.

Aubrey's story:
(Taken from his facebook page, posted by his sweet wife, Courtney)

10 days ago Aubrey was admitted into the ICU with pneumonia. 8 days ago he was put on a ventilator.... Doctors felt it would allow his body to rest and get better faster. He developed an infection called Sepsis, which has caused so many complications for him. He has been unable to wake up... he has gone thru so many tests and had so many specialists look at him to figure out why he isn't getting better. They have discovered a few things that they are treating but still don't know 100% what's going on. Today we had some baby steps towards recovery. He didn't have a fever all day, kidney and liver fucntions had gotten a little better. The best thing of all.... He opened his eyes (just for a moment), looked at me, and was able to blink. It may not sound like much, but it was huge! He has a long road ahead of him, but he's a fighter and will get better. I'm so glad he has so many people that love him and are cheering him on

Yesterday both of Aubrey's lungs collapsed. However, both are completely reinflated now. He has been on dialysis 24 hours a day and that is going very well. They took him off it today to see how his kidneys do without it and will check him in the morning to see if he needs to go back on it immediately or if he can start doing it every few days. He still sedated and on the ventilator. He is resting well and continues to fight.

Aubrey is back on 24 hour a day dialysis... his body can't handle regular dialysis yet. His lungs had started to bleed and were filling up with blood (not a lot, but if it continued, would be a big concern). They lowered the amount of blood thinners he's on and that seems to have helped his lungs stop bleeding. His temperature, blood pressure and oxygen level have been steady all day.

Aubrey has had a good few days... he has remained stable. He has started the regular dialysis and his body seems to be handling very well. Its getting so much fluid out of his body! Today he was awake for a little bit. He was even able to answer questions by nodding his head yes or no. He told me he wasn't in pain, he wanted to listen to some music (luckily I had my ipod) and I asked him if he wanted to make our living room an art studio... and of course he said yes!

Aubrey has had another good, stable week. The biggest thing this week is that he had a tracheostomy on Wednesday. When the time comes to take him off the ventilator, it's should make it easier for him. They tried to lower his sedation today to see if he'd wake up and he just wasn't having it. He just wanted to rest.
