Medical Volunteer Trip to Guatemala

Donation protected

I am excited to share that I have been officially accepted to medical school! I will get my white coat this coming August and will (hopefully) be Dr. Antognoli by Spring 2018. My journey into medicine has been anything but traditional; it has been a strange, scary, expensive, and stressful ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am thrilled to be pursuing my dream and can't wait to continue on this exciting path to becoming a doctor.

In May 2014, I will be traveling to Guatemala to provide medical care to underserved men, women, and children in rural communities. Along with other volunteers and physicians, I will be working in temporary clinics in four villages over the course of a week. This is an incredible opportunity to serve others, and I am looking forward to this segue into my first year of med school.

I don't have the means to fund the entire trip by myself, so I would greatly appreciate donations of any amount.

"Where is my money going?" you ask? The majority of the cost goes to VIDA, the non-profit organization that coordinates our trip. VIDA needs money to pay their staff, our translators, our drivers, our lodging, and local health professionals. Considering the number of people we plan to serve, this money is used economically and effectively. Any residual funds I raise will go towards medical supplies - vitamins, OTC meds, first aid kits - that I will bring with me to distribute to patients at clinic sites.

Thank you for your support!
