Brother in Blue

On July 7th, one of our favorite APD officer checked himself into Lutheran general hospital with chest pains. Unbeknownst to Pete, he was at the beginning stage of a full blown heart attack. If he wouldn't have gone to get check out, the result could have been far worse. After consulting with his Dr, heart specialist, and surgeons, the team decided that a double bypass was the only way to avoid the worst outcome. After two weeks of mandatory medications, pete was finally able to have his life saving procedure done. Hours long open heart surgery was preformed in which two veins were taken from his legs and transferred to his heart. It was a very tense time for his family, friends, dr's, and operating staff. He was able to pull through like a champ and was on his feet within a few days roaming the hospital floor. After going through therapy at the hospital, he was able to go home to rest and recover.  After a procedure of this magnitude, pete was ordered to bed rest. He has a long road ahead of him but everything has gone according to plan so far. As you can imagine, the stress of such a procedure can take its toll on someone, especially because Pete is a father to 3 great kids, and is their sole provider of income. I am humbly asking that we help out one of our own in the APD family. We have banned together to help our loved brothers and sisters in blue in the past without hesitation, and that helps to show that we are not only coworkers, but a family that looks out for each other in the darkest hours. Please help spread this among everyone you may know so we can alleviate the financial burden for Pete. Any amount is welcomed.
