This year, I will be participating in the Scooter Cannonball Run from Hyder, Alaska to New Orleans, Louisiana June 3-12. The Scooter Cannonball Run is a coast to coast endurance event for scooters. It is a test of both rider and machine that covers 3500 miles and takes in some of the best motorcycle roads on the North American continent. It will be run as a time/distance/regularity rally where points are awarded based on miles completed and the ability to maintain the standard pace.
I would like to raise money for 2 causes close to my heart. First, for the Alzheimer's Association, so they can further research and hopefully one day be able to put a stop to such a debilitating and sad disease. I have lost 2 family members affected by Alzheimer's and Dementia - my Grandfather at the age of 89 and my Mom at the age of 62.
The second is the Hawaiian Humane Society. I am a firm believer in adopting a furry family member instead of shopping for one. They are Oahu's only 24/7 admissions shelter open every day of the year.
I plan to split the total donations received into 2 equal portions and send each organization their total upon my arrival home.
It would mean very much to me if you considered donating any amount no matter how large or small to these 2 worthy causes, but I think it will mean so much more to them.
