Kylee's Fundraiser for the Zip Line Book
Kylee, is raising money to purchase a book called "Zip Line" for
children who have open heart surgery at Amplatz Children's hospital.
Nolan had all of his surgeries and procedures at Amplatz, and Kylee was
old enough to remember and understand what kids and families go through
while in the hospital. We bought the "Zip Line" book for Nolan for
Christmas, and after reading it, Kylee came up with this idea on her own.
She will be 8 years old in March, and she
is requesting donations so she can buy copies of this book in lieu of
presents from her friends and family this year. She seriously has the
biggest heart, and we are so proud of her. Amplatz will always hold a
special place in all of our hearts because of what they did for Nolan
and how they treated our family while there. We want to support Kylee in
anyway we can with this (she has been doing lots of chores around the
house to earn money :)) The author of Zip Line, David Humpreys, has generously
offered to donate one book for every 10 books Kylee buys. He also will
be giving us a discounted rate for the books because she is donating
them! We have contacted Amplatz's Child and Family Life Services to let
them know what Kylee is doing too, so they will help facilitate everything
once she is ready to donate! Thank you in advance!
