Caroles Cure

In June of 2013, my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer and brain tumors that stemmed from it.

I haven't updated everyone in some time. I was holding out, hoping to update everyone with positive news.

Over the past 8 or so months my mom has gone through chemo and two treatments of gamma knife (which is radiation directly to the tumors). She was given steroids, which she had an extremely bad reaction to. Her reaction was so bad that she was a totally different person, incredibly impatient, super short tempered and emotional. On top of that, her face puffed up really bad. Once they took her off of the steroids, she slowly got back to her normal herself again. Chemo was also extremely hard on her. She felt very sick and run down the entire time. Her lung tumor did shrink a bit so that was positive. She went through several weeks where her white blood cell count was too low for her to get more chemo.

We found out recently from her last brain scan that she has several more small tumors that spread from her lungs. She needs to get another gamma knife surgery done to get rid of them.

The problem that we're running into now is her monthly insurance rate has doubled and her deductible greatly increased at the start of the year. It's over $5000 now.

For those of you that have never met her, My mom is an amazing person and it truly selfless. She doesn't like to be the one that needs help. She's helped countless people in her life, from taking care of hundreds of children throughout her 20+ years having a daycare, to lending a hand to pretty much anyone who needed it.

I'm hoping that I can raise enough money that on top of everything she's already going through she can stay out of extreme debt.
