Swimming for a Cure
I was diagnosed this summer with a rare autoimmune liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). PSC is a disease of the bile ducts that causes inflammation and subsequent obstruction of bile ducts and ultimately leads to cirrhosis of the liver, liver failure, and liver cancer. Currently the only "cure" for PSC is a liver transplant. I'll be attending the 2014 PSC Partners Seeking a Cure conference this April to learn more about PSC and meet other people with this disease. PSC Partners Seeking a Cure (PSCP) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit foundation dedicated to raising awareness & education of PSC as well as finding treatments & a cure for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. I'd like to raise money in order to make a donation to the PSCP foundation when I attend the conference at the end of April. This disease isn't well known, in fact many doctors have never even heard of it. So I'm asking for your help to make a donation and bring awareness and hopefully a cure for this disease! For every dollar donated I will swim a lap. Thank you!!!
