The Hancock's One Year Mission

This summer The Hancock's are selling majority of everything they own, packing up, and moving to Portland! It will be a short term mission rather than a permanent move. We plan on staying for a one year period. We want to take this time to specifically focus on connecting, serving, learning, and growing. Our big picture, after a year of experience first hand in Portland, is to move back to Tulsa and start a homeless/homeless prevention ministry for teens and young adults.

We will be moving near the end of June. We are eager to begin this journey and could use your help! Again, we want to use this year of our life to focus as completely as possible on serving and less on constantly worrying about finances. That said, we will have part time jobs to cover as much as we can; therefore focusing on serving the community and organizations we are involved with fully. Cost of living is not cheap by any means in Portland. Having a home to go to at the end of each day to recharge, rest, and find peace would be a relief. We are hoping to score an awesome deal, but likely we will need all the help we can get. We are hoping to raise $10,000 to cover majority of rent and living expenses for the year.
To keep everyone in the loop and to thank you for your generous giving, we will soon be creating a blog so that everyone can follow our journey. Along with detailed blog posts of our days, weeks, months, etc. we will be featuring images and stories of the people and organizations that your finances will be helping through the two of us.
