Hi everyone,
My name is Wice Murtaza and I’d like to collect funds to help the people of Afghanistan. All of you were very generous while donating for the floods in Parwan earlier this year and I wanted to keep the momentum going and start a second fundraiser.
While COVID-19 affects us globally, there are still some countries that are suffering far worse because of the lack of resources and government capacity to play a role in helping their citizens and Afghanistan is one of those countries.
Families across Afghanistan can’t afford to take off work while there are government mandated social distancing policies and as a result are at higher risk of catching the virus. To make things worse, about “42% of children are out of school, and 76% of girls (15+) struggle to read and write”. Some schools have shutdown due to rising COVID-19 infection cases and this delays the ability for children to grow and improve their future lives.
I’d like to raise funds for the children of Afghanistan because they are the future and they need as much help and support as they can possibly get. My hopes are to reach as close as we can to $10,000 dollars to divide and distribute to needing families through my trusted sources and contacts in country. They will also provide photos and video evidence for transparency.
