Hi! My name is Brandi Horvat and I have created this Go Fund Me in memory of my brother Adam Robinson. Adam had a big heart, was full of love and would do anything for people. Adam loved Christmas. He loved the magic and peace that the season created. Adam always had dreams of creating his own non-profit and giving back to people in need. Sadly, Adam passed away on May 1, 2020.
I did not get to spend Adam’s last Christmas with him, which will forever break my heart. However, I did receive a phone call from Adam on Christmas Day where he did have a community that he was a part of and was there for their special Christmas celebration. That place was Sanctuary in Toronto. Sanctuary is a church and a community where all are welcome. They strive to offer the stability, dignity, resources and love that all of us need to flourish. As I try to make peace of Adam’s passing, I decided to try and find a way to honour my brother and his big heart.
This year I have launched “Adam’s Christmas Wish 2020,” to raise money for a place that Adam felt a connection to and where he spent his last Christmas. I want to honour his goals and dreams that he had set out for himself. He wanted to give back to others in need especially to those he could relate to. All donations made through GO Fund Me will go directly to Sanctuary.
Sanctuary is always looking for other donations as well. The agencies current main needs are warm gear for winter, particularly: men’s hoodies and sweatpants, gloves/mittens, touques, warm socks, winter coats, winter boots, sleeping bags, and tents. If you have any of these items that you would like to donate, please email me at [email redacted] to arrange for a safe and distant porch pick up. I will be personally dropping off all items donated to Sanctuary one week before Christmas.
