Save Francesca

Dear friends,

"‹I have spent the last few weeks working with some amazing kids. Your donations have brought joy and happiness and the prospect of a brighter future. With your help we were able to purchase over 800 school supplies for the kids! It was truly an unforgettable gesture and both the director and the kids are forever thankful.

Although I experience an overwhelming sense of happiness on a day to day basis, I have also seen so much suffering, illness and struggle among the families of this community. The stories they have shared with me break my heart, but none like the story of little Francesca. Francesca is an 8 month old baby who was recently diagnosed with cancerous tumors in her liver. In the last couple of months two masses the size of ping pong balls have appeared on her tiny body.

Despite this and other complications, Francesca is the happiest baby I have ever seen; she is loved dearly by her mother and her two little brothers. Needless to say,
her mother does not have the funds to finance such an operation.
Luckily, with the help of our director and this organization, Francesca was enrolled in a program that assists children in need of emergency medical attention.
Unfortunately, they will only cover a portion of the cost and we are left to raise this money on our own.
In all honesty, I would typically be reluctant to ask for additional donations from those that have already given so much. However, when I look at this baby, that reluctance is replaced by an overwhelming desire to be her advocate.

The simple truth is that without this operation Francesca will not be given the opportunity to grow and live a happy and healthy life. Though this is a complicated procedure, I cannot fathom walking away without putting up a fight and giving it everything I have. So I find myself here, again asking for your help.

I have attached a couple of photos so that you can get to know Francesca a little better. The profile photo shows her just as she should be; happy and smiley and full of giggles. The second photo shows what she's fighting against, and why this procedure is so essential.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Best wishes,

Lorena
