Let's Elevate the Elliotts!
Keller Elliott is my brother (in-law really, but we don't do titles in our family). He's married to my sister Amber and they have 2 young children - Ryland (7) and Laila (4). They are a young, happy and strong family that are fighting a battle they shouldn't have to.
Keller is 39 years old and has been battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for 5 years. It's an incredibly progressive form of MS that hasn't responded to treatment and continues to attack Keller's brain and body daily.
It's not fair and it's not right, but they are dealing with it the best way they can -- with love and a really great sense of humor. Thank God for laughter. Even through tears sometimes....
So.. everyone wants to know what they can do to help. My cousin organized dinners, gift cards are sent to their home and friends and family are a HUGE support network. But the time has come to do more.
Walking is getting more difficult for Keller. Stairs are not his friend. Amber has looked into installing an elevator in their home so Keller doesn't have to navigate the stairway. While he uses a walker now, a scooter or wheelchair may be an easier way for Keller to enjoy Ryland's baseball games in the summer.
Essentially -- we want to Elevate the Elliott's. Let's raise some money to make it easier for them to afford the elevator, a scooter or even a larger car to transport the family if needed. It will make their lives easier and allow Keller the freedom to be the Dad and husband he wants to be for his family.
