Teeth for Down Syndrome Brother

Hi, My little brother, Rene, is losing his teeth due to his down syndrome condition. Most of the teeth are gone or in the extraction state. The dental costs are large because legally he cannot be given dentures and the operations have to be done under sedation, which requires a special anesthesiologist and operating room set up. To replace his teeth he requires implants which consist of an implanted post and the tooth replacement, which placed on the post. They are permanent and will not be subject to the condition which weekens his teeth. If this is not done quickly, the bone may deteriorate and the window of opportunity may be lost. The dental office of Gotchalk and Lee in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, is the only one in the area that can do this work and there really isn't any competition to bring the price down. They also specialize in treating the mentally handicapped. The $30,000 will cover the complete cost of surgery and replacement and is the ideal situation for him. My little brother Rene is sweet and innocent. He has the mental ability ranging from 3 to 8 years old, depending on the concept to be understood. For example, he cannot understand abstract concepts such as money, self-sufficiency, and what the world or universe really is. He is only capable of small sentences and words. He is however completely loving and sweet. He does seem to advance as he gets older though and he does surprise us at times as to what he does understand. He is truly one of God's innocents ...


Point of clarification:


The surgery can be done in steps.
If the ideal goal is not met ( when in life is it?), all monies received will be used toward a partial completion ... A partial set of teeth is better than none!

I am taking as much of the load as I can and won't allow monies to be donated for that.

I wouldn't ask for your kindness and help if I didn't need it, if Rene didn't need it. Asking for help is not something i am accustomed to.
