Troys Fight with Colon Cancer

Troy started his battle on May 21, 2012. He went to the doctor for a colonoscopy. That is the day we will NEVER EVER forget, and it's the day his worst fears were confirmed. "Troy Harris you have cancer."
Within two weeks surgery was scheduled, June 7, 2012 to be exact. We were excited and optimistic that life would return to normal once the surgery was over and the tumor removed. To our dismay the surgery was unsuccessful; the tumor was too large to remove. The next step was chemotherapy. One month later the plan was 6 sessions of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor. Once every two weeks for three months. The goal was to shrink the tumor and perform a second surgery to remove it. After chemo the doctors scheduled the second surgery. "We've shrunk the tumor. We're going to go in and remove it and patch you back up."
Again we faced devastating disappointment. During surgery the doctors discovered that the tumor was attached to main arteries. Removal was too dangerous. The prescription was chemotherapy for life.
Anyone that knows Troy Harris knows he's a fighter and would not accept this recommendation.
We took our hopes to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia, PA. They treated Troy like royalty. Many other alternative methods of treatment were implemented: hyperthermia, radiation, other chemotherapies, naturopathic medicine, mind body medicine and spiritual support. Just like the commercial says, this hospital exhausted every resource. However it does not change the fact that we are dealing with a stubborn aggressive tumor.
January 2014, Troy Harris currently has stage IV cancer and is BATTLING FOR HIS LIFE. We have accumulated thousands of dollars in medical bills. I am reaching out to family and friends for help. Anything you donate is appreciated.
