Dear Friends,
I am setting up this Go Fund Me to help me pay for medical expenses for my husband of 23 years, my partner, lover, best friend and Soulmate, Doug.
My husband suffered a massive stroke in March which left him partially paralyzed on his right side (arm&leg) in a wheelchair and effected his speech and memory. The doctors told us it would take between months to years of intensive therapy to hopefully regain as much of his abilities as possible. After spending almost 5 months between ICU and Rehab, he is finally home. Now the real work of recovery begins.
Doug is an exceptionally kind person and has volunteered in the community for years through Scouting, Youth Football, Little League and other activities. He would do anything to help anybody. He is a lifelong runner, skier and tennis player and through this illness he has never lost his positive attitude or sense of humor. He has been retired due to other serious ongoing chronic medical issues including emergency open heart surgery 4 years ago and subsequent complications.
I am buried right now in expenses I need to pay for him and I am also working to put our two sons through College.
I am seeking support to help me pay for medical bills, medical equipment, required home modifications/lift/wheelchair ramp and ongoing PT/OT/Speech Therapy and Home Care.
