Greetings,
I hope all is going well with you and your families. My name is Immanuel Beech. I am currently living in Washington D.C. completing my freshman year at Howard University as an Honors Finance major with a concentration in Actuarial Science in the School of Business. During this first year, I have been afforded the opportunity to be a member of the Freshman Leadership Academy (FLA), which was created to expose first year students to the specific duties, responsibilities, opportunities, and challenges associated with all aspects of student leadership. As rising African American student leaders in an increasingly-competitive world, we have been learning to be aware of international issues, as the nations in our world today are more interconnected than ever before. As the world of industry, trade, and technology becomes more and more globally-oriented, other nations have risen up to become international powers and forces of influence. Such is the case with the nation of China, who has become increasingly crucial in the sphere of international relations.
This year, FLA has been greatly blessed with the opportunity to travel overseas to China for three weeks to: immerse ourselves in and learn about their unique culture, participate in internships specific to our areas of academic study, and to conduct service projects. However, this once in a lifetime opportunity cannot be brought to fruition without the help of family and friends like you. I would also very much appreciate it if you took this proposal to any organization/company that you know might be willing to sponsor, because FLA and I need as much funding as possible. Please partner with me and the Freshman Leadership Academy to make this trip possible!
