Healing Sweet Hazel

On my way to work on Monday, I noticed a dog on the side of the road.  She did not appear to be dead, but was lying there as if she were curled up sleeping.  I simply couldn't  keep driving, knowing something was wrong, so I turned around to see if she needed help.  Turns out she was alive, but had been hit by a car and left for dead.  Her front right leg was severely broken, and she was bleeding from many spots.  I scooped her up and put her in the back seat of my car, refusing to let her die alone and in pain.  As you can imagine, the vet bills are quite extensive for this sweet girl.  She has a broken radius and ulna, three cracked ribs, and a fractured pelvis.  She will need orthopedic surgery on her arm.  She was not microchipped, so I assumed full financial responsibility for her.  Anything you can do to help is so greatly appreciated!

Update:  Sweet Bella was microchipped and her owner was located.  Sadly, he did not have the ability to provide the care she needs after such a bad accident.  He signed over rights to us, and we have now assumed full responsibility for her.  She is scheduled to have orthopedic surgery on her arm on Friday, and will have extensive rehabilitation to get her back to where she needs to be.  The outpouring of support for this sweet girl has been humbling and we are so very grateful.  Please keep sharing Hazel’s story.  We've got a long way to go!  Thank you!
