Mom & Son on a Mission to Honduras.

Many years ago God put in my heart that I needed to take my son Christian in some sort of mission. And I was to-do it before he was 16. I have kept talking about taking him but I kept stalling. In early 2008 I went to some classes to go on a trip to India but I decided not to go.


My church has gone on several mission trips and I keep being too afraid of the unknown. This year Vineyard Christian Fellowship of North Phoenix (VCFNP) is going to Honduras. I went to a class about the trip while Christian was at church camp with a friend. If I was going to take him before 16 this would have to be the trip, as he would be turning 16 a month after the trip.


When Christian came back from church camp he hopped in the car and he said "Mom, did you know that most of the world lives off of $2.00 a day?" and before I could answer he quickly was rattling on all that had happened to him and his heart at church camp. The second thing he told me was that he wanted to go on a mission. He said "Mom I bound the devil, and told him he could not speak to me, and then I told God I was listening and I would do whatever God wanted. Mom, God told me to get up, Go." He said "Mom, I asked a few times just to make sure I was hearing and God spoke to me!" Then he blurted "SO CAN I GO?" I was still trying to absorb everything he was saying so I asked "Go where?" With as much patience a hyper teenager could muster he shouted "on a MISSION".

I went home that night and found the credit card and purchased the tickets. This is such a leap of faith for me. Not only for the trip but for the money.
