Caring for Cricket

In September of 2013, Rev. Ola Irene "Cricket" Harrison was hospitalized with multiple health concerns.  She has since been discharged from hospital and skilled nursing to home, but is unable to complete activities of daily living by herself.  Her sister, Theresa and Rev. Keith Gibbons and his wife Sharna, who have become like family to Cricket have been assisting her in her care as much as humanly possible.  Currently, Cricket is uninsured,(disability pending with anticipated denial the first time as that seems to be the pattern for people who apply for disability).  She has no monthly income.  She is being evaluated by government agencies for resources.  The home where she is living is in need of significant restoration and does not accommodate her special needs at this time.  Thus far, she has "fallen through the cracks" between agencies and institutions.  Keith and Sharna are managing an account in Odessa to pay for her needs.  Funds donated will go to support Cricket's ongoing medical care and expenses related to providing a safe living environment for her.  This initial campaign is to try to raise funds to provide for her needs until she can be approved for Disability, which should have a major impact on her ability to receive the services she needs from established agencies.
