Caring For The Purdys

In April of this year our amazing brother-in-law, Tim Purdy, was diagnosed with having a Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor which had metastasized to multiple organs including the stomach, spleen, pancreas, diaphragm and liver. Doctors were able to remove the cancer from all but the liver and implemented treatment to control the remaining cancer growth. The outlook was positive as Tim's treatment plan had successfully extended the lives of recipients by 5, 10, and even 15 years. The early months of Tim's fight had it's ups and downs, but fight he did. In early to mid October Tim excitedly prepared for the possibility of easing back into work in the coming month of November. Unfortunately, cancer had another plan. On November 8th Tim was readmitted to the hospital after experiencing significant abdominal pain. Within a week Rebekah and Tim received the heartbreaking news that a new form of cancer had developed which now involved the abdominal lining and lymph nodes. While Tim continued to fight this very aggressive cancer, treatment is no longer an option and today Tim and Rebekah have opted for and transitioned to hospice care. Gathered together with their 6 children and a multitude of loved ones, honoring Tim’s wishes, we are continually supporting them emotionally and spiritually. However, we recognize the great financial burden ahead and have had a number of people reach out to ask how they can help and believe that even the smallest of donations when accumulated together will help ease this burden from Rebekah and Tim. So we are asking for those who feel called to do so to donate. All donations will be directly deposited straight into their account.
