Sunday Sept. 24th Dave went to urgent care with chest pain, shoulder pain, and a cough. They did some testing qnd diagnosed him with bronchitis and muscle spasms. Gave him meds and and order for a CT scan and sent him home.
After being home of couple of days he was feeling worse and after a call to the nurse line we decided the best thing to do was go to the ER. They did a bunch of diagnostics and found his heart was ok, he has pneumonia, and they found a mass in his lung that is pressing on his heart.
He was immediately transferred to Mtn View hospital where they have specialists to better treat him.
He has a team of specialists working to determine the next steps to take in developing a treatment plan.
The mass is 10cm in size and the doctors believe it is malignant but has not spread. He has had an ultrasound on his prostate, where they said it would have likely spread to first, and found no signs of cancer there.
Wednesday night he had an elevated heart rate and it was determined he was going in and out of AFib. He was moved to an ICU unit where they could monitor him closer and administer meds to help slow his heart rate. The meds are working great.
Tonight they will be doing an abdominal CT scan to look for any other masses that may have formed. We hope it is just the one as the doctor believes.
David is currently recieving an infusion of platelets because of low platlet count, so the doctors can safely do a biopsy.
As you all could imagine this has been a huge blow to this amazing family. Not only emotionally and obviously physically but Dave is the sole supporter of the family and not knowing what the future brings as far as work and finances we could only guess how scary this must be for them.
I am creating this fundraiser to help ease some if the burden and stress from these guys so that they may focus their time and energy on getting Dave healthy!
