An Appeal for Help for the CALEYS

On New Year’s Eve, Joshua C. Caley, a 19-year old boy college student from the University of Manchester and only child of Philip and Joy Caley, as with other typical teenagers, decided to attend a New Year’s party in order to reconnect and bond with his friends from the Isle of Man. However, upon coming home, he accidentally fell along the Ramsey Harbour and had not been found since then.

The incident left his parents so devastated and words are enough to describe their shock, anguish and devastation with the suddenness of this incident. When Joshua arrived coming from Manchester in order to spend Christmas vacation with his parents, the latter were so ecstatic in being reunited with their only child who forayed his independence being a student in the mainland. Never in their wildest imagination did they ever think that such a vacation would end up so tragically. Up until now, the body of their son, who had been missing since New Year’s even had not resurfaced and remains to be missing. The agony of waiting for their son’s body to be found is tearing them both.

Mr. and Mrs. Philip Caley only had Joshua as their child. With him gone missing, the couple seemed to have lost interest in everything and they need all the company of families and friends. But friends from the island also have their own families to go home to at the end of the day. There are, however, families of Joy Caley from the Philippines who are most willing to be with them in this trying moment of their lives. The only obstacle is with regards to financial consideration involved in bringing them over here.

It is in that connection that I am appealing to the good hearts and generosity of people, friends and relations of Philip and Joy Caley who sympathise and feel for them to share any amount that they can part in order to help them defray in bringing some of their family members over the island. In that way, they will be having company 24/7 from people who truly care for them and who would be willing to sacrifice in staying with them in the meantime that the search for the body of Joshua Caley is still ongong. Any amount will surely go a very long way.
