For the love of Tiana

Update 6/5/2017  Hi everyone.  It has been a while since I have given an update on Tiana and Regina.   Some of you may know that Tiana has had to have 2 surgeries recently and thankfully has come through both great.   The financial burden has been growing again for this beautiful family and if you have anything to give I am sure even the smallest amount would be appreciated.  If all of their friends would chip in even the price it takes to buy a lunch it would make a huge difference in the expenses that it takes to pay for Tiana's care.  Many may presume that when a person is injured in an accident such as Tiana was that there is a lot of government assistance that kicks in, and while it does cover some , it does not even begin to cover everything that it costs to take care of an adult dependant.  Tiana is making strides every day but she requires full time 24 hour care.   It is a careful balance and when extra expenses like 2 surgeries in a short amount of time get thrown in the mix it throws the carefully balanced budet off by a lot.  If these are people that have touched your lives in any way then please show them now by giving what you can.  Thank you.

P.S.  All money deposits straight into Regina's account and does not come to me.

Update:   First of all thank you to everyone that has helped out with donations so far.  Second I want to tell you all something that has come to my attention.  Many do not realize exactly how dire the situation with Tiana is.  In my sensitivity to Regina, Tiana and Natalya's pride I was remiss in displaying the reality of life with Tiana.  I know that they are a family that is private and that has a lot of pride and dignity so I hope they will forgive me but they need help.  I had people approach me after I posted this that talked about how good Tiana looked in the pictures and because of that they were led to believe she is much better than she is so let me clear things up.  A day in the life with Tiana means giving her her medicine through a feeding tube, changing her diapers, cleaning her up, and feeding her baby food just as you would a newborn.  In fact that is a good description.  She is like a newborn.  Except with this newborn, she gets angry and is strong and she is much harder to pick up and move. She is in a wheelchair, she can not walk. She has to be turned to avoid bedsores.  She has to have someone moved her limbs and help her excercise. Her speech is better sometimes than others but mostly it is a speech that a Mom or a sister can understand much like that of a baby.  Her mother is out of work at the moment.  She will probably never speak to me again for telling you that part.  I won't go into details but suffice it to say places don't like it when you have to make your child your priority.   I am going to show you Tiana today.  This is Tiana at her sister's baby shower.  It was one of the better days.   This is not to exploit this situation.  This is to help someone that is in desparate need.  For Tiana there is no one sponsoring her to rebuild her home to be more wheelchair accessable, there are no fundraisers by radio stations and donations by big corporations, there are no trips for her family on a private jet to dinners with politicians and to give speeches because she isn't a cute little kid. I am not saying those families don't deserve every dime they get but it is not there for everyone. She and her family need money to help her needs just as much as anyone.  She gets very little money for disability, it is not enough to cover the cost of most of her needs much less help with the every day essentials.  It doesn't have to be much, if every friend of hers or her family gave a dollar it would help. One dollar, five dollars.  Whatever you can spare.  Be her friend.

In April of 2011 Tiana Gibson daughter of Regina Barnes and sister of Natalya Gibson was injured in an accident when the go-cart she was riding in was struck by an SUV. Since then she has fought to recover from a traumatic brain injury. She is confined to a wheelchair and Regina and Natalya have to do everything for her. For those of you that know Regina and her "girls" you know that they do not ask for help, they are very strong women that fight hard to take care of themselves but I am asking for them. They need your help. Tiana is once again back in the hospital fighting the good fight. The expenses involved with taking care of a loved one in this condition are never ending. Any donation is welcome. I made the goal $10,000 not because I expect that much for them but because I did not want any limitations put on this fundraiser. Please consider helping these wonderful women that stick together through everything and always try so hard to do things on their own. Let's show them that they are never alone and that help and love is out there for them.
