This is my son Timothy Needham, his
wonderful wife Amy, and my beautiful grandchildren Ashley and Casey. My granddaughter Ashley paid a photographer
to take this family photo on August 4, 2013 while her Dad was preparing to come back to Boston
for another surgery to remove more Metastic Melanoma from his scalp. On May 8th
2013, Timmy's thirty-sixth birthday, he received the pathology reports from his
first surgery of April 14, 2013. The lump that was removed from the side of his
head was in fact Metastic Melanoma.
Since that date Timmy has had 7 additional major surgeries during which 60% of his scalp has been
removed . His skull has been shaved with
hopes of getting a clear margin so he could start a new gene immune therapy
because Chemo and Radiation do not work on this type of cancer. On Christmas eve he received a call from the
head of Oncology at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Mass telling him that the cancer has now moved to his chest. The surgeries scheduled for Jan 20th
and 25th to remove another Tumor from the side of his head will have
to be cancelled until Timmy can start some type treatment on Jan 23rd,
2014.
As a mother this is a difficult situation and the financial burden is taking it's toll on everyone. I am asking you to please help me to help my son save his life . Timmy is doing what ever the Doctors say in order to live, but time is of the essence. Thank you.
