Help Me Help Kids in Dominican Republic

Hey everyone, 
   I have been accepted into the International Student Volunteers program for this summer, 2014. I am aiming to be a part of their efforts in the Dominican Republic doing community outreach to better the living conditions for children and their families in this area.
   In the past, this group has built homes, schools, recreational buildings, and safe houses fro the communities in which they are working. ISV also aims to teach children English and other skills like art and music.
   This summer they are participating in a program that teaches children sports and all the skills that come along with that; communication, team work, dedication and motivation. Each community that ISV enters will have a Major League Baseball player as the "face" of that community.
   Basically, I have an opportunity to take my 15 years of softball and use it to help better the lives of children living in complete poverty, to give them skills that could help them better their own futures like athletics has done for me and so many others; along with being able to help rebuild their communities and improve their living situations
   I am incredibly excited to be a part of all this, and could really use your help. I need to raise $4000 to cover my trip and expenses I will have to pay while I am away, as soon as possible. I have had an excess of people who helped mold me and encourage me throughout my life, and I cannot think of any better use of my summer than participating in such an impacting program that could help shape the lives of children in need.
    I understand money is tight for just about everyone, but anything helps. Even a single dollar puts me one step closer to making a difference in someone's life. Every cent counts, and it would mean the world to me. I thank anyone who reads this for at least considering it, and for those of you who donate, I could not thank you enough.
