For the Love of the Game
Donation protected
In honor of Ashley Rae Christiansen Terry, who recently passed away after a valiant year-long fight with leukemia, , we are creating this fundraiser as a tribute to her love of softball, and the community of Mountain Home that she was raised in and adored.
Our goal is to raise enough money to upgrade the softball fields with new bleachers, and, in celebration of her life, place a plaque in honor of Ashley & her father who led glorious lives and were warriors in the battle of cancer. We want to celebrate Ashley and Brad and the love that they shared for the game.
What better way to give back to a community than to to leave something a little better than when it was found, the same way Ashley would.
About This Project:
From the time we lost sweet Ashley, we knew we wanted to do something to honor her in the town of Mountain Home. She loved Mountain Home--it brought her so much happiness and she was proud to call it home. Ashley was a North Elementary Star, a Mountain Home Tiger, and a star catcher for the Mountain Home softball team when they won state for the first time. She loved the game of softball, loved her team, and loved her town.
The idea started out as a bench; however, after meeting with John Clark, the MHHS Athletic Director, and talking through our options, it became obvious that we needed to think a little bigger. The bleachers are worn and small in size with rotting wood, the seating options are very limited, and the bleachers are in need of a concrete base to secure them.
After we have successfully raised funds and installed the bleachers, we are planning a memorial game in honor of Ashley. What better way to remember the Rae of sunshine she spread around her!
How You Can Help:
Our first goal is to raise enough funds for the bleachers and concrete so we can install and dedicate them. Please share, donate, and spread the word!! Every time the fundraiser is shared, donations start to add up more quickly. Talk with your employer, your friends, and businesses you are already supporting and ask if they can help. Every little bit helps us get closer to our goal.
We would also love to see local businesses donate, and would offer recognition for their support as part of the project. The town of Mountain Home is unique in so many ways and small businesses are the fabric of our town. What a beautiful community effort this can be for a cause bigger than us.
