Help for Baby Amelia
Hello, my name is Tiffany. I’m fundraising to help and support my friend in South Africa, who recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Amelia.
Baby Amelia was born with a rare, complicated and incurable skin condition- Epidermolysis Bullosa, causing extensive fragile skin and painful blistering over her body, hands and feet.
Unfortunately, Baby Amelia has recently developed blistering internally causing further complications and making nursing difficult and extremely painful for both her and mum.
There is no cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa, but treatments to control symptoms can improve her quality of life and prevent complications like infections.
Doctors have prescribed two-month-old Baby Amelia with morphine to help with unbearable pain and she requires round the clock hospital care to clean wounds and regularly change the bandages that cover all the affected areas on her body.
Amelia’s distraught parents face enormous challenges ahead in providing the continuous specialised care for their baby girl. Daily hospital commutes, pain relief medication, medical bandages, antiseptic treatments, special clothing and special milk are just some of the unforeseen expenses that the family need help with.
Every donation, big or small, will help Baby Amelia to get the care and support she and her family desperately need to get through this incredibly difficult and rare diagnosis.
Thank you for your time and support. It means a lot and would be a huge help to Baby Amelia and her family.
