Thank you all for your support and love during this time. This site is managed by Tom's next door neighbor, Maggie, and I will do my best to keep this site up to date with Tom's progress as he fights this glioblastoma. As you all know, Tom makes inappropriate jokes to get through stressful times so I'm sorry if some of my posts seem like we are taking this lightly. I assure you that we are not. But, we have to do what we can to get through these tough times and making jokes is definitely helping. Any prayers and words of encouragement you have to give are greatly appreciated. We all thank you for your support in getting Tom through this ordeal. Unfortunately, the news we've received about Tom and his latest recovery is not great. He only has a few months to live. Tom is a fighter and we are so fortunate to know that he is fighting for his life every step of the way. We are asking for all those who know Tom and have experienced his generosity to now pay it forward. Tom took care of everyone in his life. He is and will always be the most caring man that I have ever met in my life. Throughout his life, he has given so much to everyone he has ever known. Now, it's OUR TURN to give back to TOM AND HIS FAMILY. THIS GIFT IS so that we can provide over night care for Tom at his home. This service is not covered and it is an out of pocket expense for the family. We are now asking for YOUR support during this difficult time. Please help the Bessett family with these and future medical expenses. Tom gives his HEART and SOUL to those who he loves and it is now OUR turn to take care of HIS family. We love you Tom and are all here for you.
Update: 1-20-2014: Tom will be coming home today and will be In the care of hospice. The nightly nurse will be a huge help to Chuckie and family.
Tom passed away this afternoon and was surrounded by his family. Please allow some grieving tome for the family. Tom celebrated life to the fullest. We will do the same in his honor. His wishes were to have his ashes spread at his favorite place, the Cayman Islands. Let's make sure that happens for his family.
