On January 17, 2014 @ 3:29pm our second great-grandson Coen Eden Carter was born by c-section. At birth the doctors discovered there were complications. Coen had stopped growing and was not fully developed. He has tracheoesophageal atresia and was born without a rectum. Within hours of birth he had his first surgery to provide a temporary fix that would allow him to eat and have bowel movements and is facing more surgeries and a long hospital stay. Mommy is staying near the hospital and daddy is trying to hold onto his job and visit the baby and mommy on his days off.
Update - February 12th
Baby Coen has developed NEC in his intestines. If things do not improve he faces another surgery tomorrow morning to remove the infected portion of the intestines.
We trust that our Heavenly Father will watch over and heal this precious little baby. And for any donors, we pray God blesses you in return for your compassion and love for one of his precious little ones. Thank you from all of us!!
