Mission Trip to Africa

My name is Grace fay and this past year I became part of a club called Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I am a senior in high school and before I go to college I want to do something meaninful with my summer. The leader of FCA, Gary Morello is leading a trip to Kenya this summer where we will be working alongside many other volunteers to build a school for 300 kids in the Kibera slum located outside of Nairobi. The school that was finished back in June has recently burnt down and the children and teachers are devastated. Our goal is to rebuild this school in the time we are there in order to get these children back into school as soon as possible. Crossing Thresholds' mission is to not only give these children the education they deserve, but also to give their volunteers a chance to experience the hardships that people face around the world. This trip means so much to me and I am so excited that I was presented with this opportunity to make a real difference in the world.
