Help Save ISIS' home!

This is Isis, but you may know her by one of her many nick names Buckwheat, Becky, or Rebecca. A child of the '60s, she is easy going and fun loving, with a passion for art, music, the outdoors, and adventure. Isis has been a mother for over 35 years and has dedicated her whole life to raising her 7 children. She has also helped raise many other kids in her lifetime and has never said no to helping a friend or loved one in need. She has been living in the same home for 18 years and now lives at home with her youngest son, Wyatt, who is attending college.

In December 2009, Isis had two horrible strokes. Surviving the first stroke, she found out she had actually been having undetectable strokes for a few decades. Suffering from a second traumatic brain injury, she awoke barely being able to remember her own children. Big parts of her life were now lost. Information, knowledge, skills, and memories were all gone. Despite steadfast perserverance, Isis has never been the same. Traumatic brain injuries are not a joke and people living with them have enormous challenges they must face every day.

Not only is Isis living with traumatic brain injury, she also suffers from Fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, and lives in fear of having another stroke. Living with disability prevents her from being able to work, and also from living what most people would consider a normal life. Isis has been trying to acquire disability benefits since 2011 and her lawyer believes that she will be approved within a year. This is great news but the reality is she needs help NOW.

Without additional support, she is unable to make her house payment and is currently facing many hard decisions that could result in her and her son being homeless.

This is why I started this page for my mom. She needs our help now more than ever. So, I am asking you to donate any amount you can, little or big. Every last dollar will help keep her home and off the streets. I made a goal of $10,000, enough money to cover Isis' mortgage for a year. Within that time she should (hopefully) be approved for disability assistance. So if you can donate, please do! She has helped so many of us in the past and does not deserve to be on the streets.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read Isis's story.
